Fablecraft

The TTRPG for everyone

Tales of Fablecraft is a collaborative fantasy role playing game. An all-in-one, digital-first “tabletop” RPG, built to play with friends remotely, or in-person.

Fablecraft is its own platform, game system & fantasy world. It has video chat built-in & a turn-based combat engine & a suite of digital storytelling tools that make jumping in to a campaign seamless, intuitive & fun. It’s the TTRPG we wish we had when learning how to play the other ones.

We built Fablecraft to be intuitive, approachable & tactile. A colorful & fantastic world where all are welcome, regardless of experience level or play style. For the RPG-curious folks that never found the right group, or were intimidated by all the rules & big books. For the adventurers that grew up with tabletop fantasy games, who tried doing it remotely struggled juggling the several different apps at once in order to make it happen. With Fablecraft, you can get started quickly, journey into the magical world of Mythas, & enjoy rich adventures in sessions of 90 minutes or less.

Fablecraft is social & flexible. Play in person, remote, or both. Use the seamlessly integrated voice & video chat tools to amplify your adventure, or tuck it aside & explore together with text chat, cursor pings & reaction emotes.

The Game Master’sGuide (GMG) is a core proof point of Fablecraft promise of approachability & ease of use. Rather than requiring GMs to digest & prepare huge amounts of material before a play session, Fablecraft surfaces the information & assets you need, as you need it, making it simple to pick up & play with minimal preparation.

Tales of Fablecraft launched on Steam in Early Access (MacOS & Windows) during in July of 2024, on iPad in September & iPhone in June 2025. Games can be run cross-platform, with more platforms & device support (including Android) coming soon.

Building tools has been a large part of my role on Fablecraft, & core to the mission of this project. Player-facing “homebrew” features like allow storytellers to create custom creatures, characters, environments, music, & combat maps to create their own worlds within Fablecraft.

Internal tools like the GMG Builder helped us to streamline & democratize our content publishing pipelines & empower all team members to write, edit & publish new adventures from within the platform.
